San Joaquin County Family Justice Center hosts inaugural fundraising event featuring Dr. Bennet Omal
On Saturday, January 9, 2016, The San Joaquin County Family Justice Center held their inaugural fundraising event featuring Dr. Bennet Omalu, whose research detailing the effects of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is highlighted in the film, Concussion.
Guests were treated to a mixer event at the Cellar Door in Lodi, followed by a private showing of the film, sponsored by Bank of Stockton and the Eberhardt family. The film, written and directed by Peter Landesman, stars Will Smith as Dr. Omalu and highlights his real-life discovery of CTE and the subsequent response from the NFL.
We at the San Joaquin County Family Justice Center are so thankful to have had such a huge outpouring of support from our community. This was a sold out event that brought together a number of sponsors and allowed us to raise awareness about the Family Justice Center and how it will benefit our community.
A special thank you to our sponsors: American Event Rentals (Steve Colangelo), Bank of Stockton and the Eberhardt Family, Blue Frog Winery, Cellar Door, Fenix (Richard Hyman), Gary J. Long Jewelers, Steve Klein, Michael David Winery, Moo-Moo’s Burger Barn, Nipote Wine Imports, Rosewood Bar and Grill, School Street Bistro, Kristi Seligman, Anne Siegfried, Three Little Birds Bakery, Ulmer Photo, Vanruiten Family Winery, and Weibel Family Vineyards & Winery.
